About Rep. Melanie Stambaugh

Melanie Stambaugh was born and raised in Puyallup. She is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business where she holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Melanie is co-owner of You Impression, a small business dedicated to helping individuals build confidence through leadership, etiquette and professional development programs. She also serves on the board of Communities In Schools of Puyallup.
Melanie has served in the Legislature since 2015. Her top priority is improving public schools and ensuring our students have every opportunity to succeed in the classroom and in life. She supports the bipartisan effort to fund schools first, and believes it’s important to defend high standards for both students and teachers. Another top priority of Melanie’s is small business growth. As a small business owner herself, Melanie has seen first-hand how excessive government regulation can inhibit entrepreneurship. She is committed to ensuring Washingtonians can easily start a business and create jobs, which helps grow our state’s economy. During her first session, Melanie worked closely with fellow 25th District lawmaker Rep. Hans Zeiger to secure funding for the completion of Highway 167.
Melanie is focused on people, not politics, and is committed to the issues that are important to the residents of the 25th District.
